Medical Review Process
Every clinical, pharmacological, and safety article on Kratom Finder passes through a six-step review process anchored by Dr. Irvine Russell, M.D., a board-certified physician at UC Irvine.
Draft
Content is researched and drafted by our editorial team using primary-source medical literature, FDA notices, and peer-reviewed pharmacology.
Fact-check
Claims are fact-checked against primary sources. Citations are internally tracked for every clinical assertion.
Medical review
Drafts are sent to Dr. Irvine Russell, M.D. for clinical review. He validates pharmacology, dose ranges, interaction warnings, contraindications, and harm-reduction framing.
Revision
Changes requested by Dr. Russell are applied. Material corrections require his approval before publishing.
Publish
Approved content is published with a "Medically reviewed by Dr. Irvine Russell M.D." notation and a "last reviewed" date.
Re-review
Clinical content is re-reviewed quarterly. Regulatory content (legality, FDA enforcement) is re-reviewed monthly. Stale content is updated or unpublished.
What gets reviewed vs not
Reviewed: pharmacology pages, safety guide, drug-interaction table, withdrawal protocol, tolerance-reset guide, strain pages\' effects descriptions, all articles in /articles/, all pages referencing clinical claims.
Not reviewed (but editorially checked): retailer listings, city pages, brand pages, pricing tables, historical timeline pages, legal status pages.
Disclosure
Dr. Russell is compensated hourly for review time. He holds no equity in Kratom Finder, any indexed brand, or any affiliate partner. He can (and has) required us to soften, retract, or add warnings to content despite commercial considerations.
What review is NOT
Medical review is quality control on published information. It is NOT:
- A prescription or medical advice for any individual reader
- A personal consultation — Dr. Russell does not accept individual patient questions via this site
- A guarantee of outcome for any reader
- A substitute for consulting your own physician
